Writing the outage notice on our website is also part of my job 📢

When a fault happens, writing “network outage in progress” on our website is also part of my job.

No matter how used to this I get, it is difficult, and on top of that I have to share it quickly inside the company too, including the directors and the management.

The night shift starts at 4:30pm, and for the first 30 minutes the whole team does a simulation that we call “training time”.

We imagine a fault that is not real, and we practise preparing the text to put on the website and the internal message, right up to the point just before actually sending it.

While repeating this, it started to feel less like thinking with my head, and more like my hands already remember it.
