In a phone network my part is sometimes only the middle 🧩

My part is sometimes only the middle.

Communication travels through the networks of many companies before it arrives.

Sometimes only the last section, the one near the customer, belongs to another company.

So during a fault, we keep the phone connected with the other company, and we say to each other, “is it reaching your side?”

What I can see is surprisingly narrow.
