What surprised me when I started working at a big company was that 70% of what I had to learn was internal company rules, and network knowledge was only about 30%.

I joined as a temp worker because I wanted to do network operations, but what there actually was a lot of was internal things, like which department to hand it over to.

A big company has a way of doing things that was built over many years, so learning that way is actually the more important thing.
